College of Teacher Education (CTE),Tinsukia was started during the year 1993 at Tinsukia, Assam, India . This was started with the aim to impart quality Teacher education which focuses on the rural population.

Success starts with a thought or an idea when nourished with hope and confidence, that idea sprouts, blossoms CTE is a creation to impart and provide such a knowledge which is strength and power to the society with the learning of the latest developments of the world to meet the growing demand for trained man power.
History of the Institution :
Established on 16th August 1993 as a result of benevolent venture of some leading educationists and citizen of Tinsukia the institute in being able to stand as one of the reputed affiliated college of Teacher Education under Dibrugarh University during the period which it has been able to fulfill the major norms of NCTE, maintain proper academic tendered so far apart that during this prolong journey struggling against all odds it has developed all possible.
Vision Statement :
A vision document with the ‘theme’ community along with the learners in the classroom must be illuminated through the Training Collelges and College of Teacher Education, Tinsukia also obviously can’t avoid the responsibility.
Mission and Objectives :
The mission and objective of the institute are quality training to the teacher trainees and thereby overall healthy educational environment in and around the district in particular and society in general can be created with the message “students are the greatest resource”
